UK Inflation Update

The Consumer Prices Index including owner occupiers’ housing costs (CPIH) saw a marginal uptick to 7.9% for the year ending May 2023, from 7.8% in April.

The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) rose by 8.7% in the 12 months to May 2023, unchanged from April.

The UK continues to grapple with inflation rates significantly above the Bank of England’s target of 2%.

The Bank of England’s next meeting is tomorrow (Wednesday, 21 June 2023).

Will we see further adjustments in the base rate to counter these numbers?
