Will I need to change my mortgage if I move?
You may be able to move your existing mortgage if you are on a fixed rate or a rate that you would not want to lose. However, you should always check if there is a better option available to you from the whole of the market.
Do I need a cash deposit?
You will need a deposit when you move home whether you are taking out a new mortgage or porting your existing one. Often the deposit will come from the proceeds of the sale of your current property.
Can I borrow more?
Whether porting your existing mortgage or moving to a new lender it may be possible to borrow more. The maximum will be based on a full affordability assessment and the lenders loan to value criteria.
