Can anyone get a buy to let mortgage?
With most lenders you’ll need to be 21 years or older to apply for a buy to let mortgage. You don’t always need to have a residential property and you can apply in your own name or via a limited company.
How much deposit do I need for a buy to let mortgage?
Most lenders will require you to put down a larger deposit for a buy to let mortgage than you would for a residential property. This is usually around 25% of the property’s value. You may need to put down more on a lower yielding property.
Do you need a minimum income for a buy to let mortgage?
Many lenders have a ‘no minimum income’ requirement. However, there are some lenders that require a minimum income, for example £25,000 or possibly more for a first-time buyer or portfolio landlord.
